Living in the so called “Interesting times” humanity is facing a plethora of illusions, both deliberate and self inflicted. In a chaotic bombardment of information one tends to disregard what’s really important while undermining the inevitability of eventual physical mortality.
Various metaphysical theories unite in the fact that physical life itself is an Illusionary experience for the soul. The displayed works are an attempt of visual representation of the physical life’s cycle through the prism of metaphysics which consists of three major elements:
Arrival to the physical plane ( Illusion of Birth)
Experience of the physical plane ( Illusion of Life)
Departure from the physical plane ( Illusion of Death)
/Petr Shevchenko/
Twinkling lights, translucent layers, fluorescent colours, mystical shapes, come together resulting in a poetic and sophisticated playfull work that transcends his imagination into a visual almost tangible fantasy. Using mixed media, he creates an entrance to one’s inner abstract being.
